I build and fix the systems and networks companies run on.
Eighteen years of it now: network operations centres, night shifts, incidents at every hour a human should be asleep. These days I work on network automation at StarHub in Singapore, and most of my job is designing things so they don't break in the first place. It is less cinematic than fixing them at 3am. I recommend it anyway.
I hold RHCSA and CCNA; AWS Solutions Architect Professional is in progress. I did my degree part-time at Murdoch while working twelve-hour rotating shifts, which taught me more about capacity planning than any module did.
Before Singapore there was the Philippines. I've been here since December 2013, but the writing started long before the engineering: the school paper at twelve, a blog at nineteen, and I haven't really stopped since.
I'm a Christian. Grace, not performance. It took me years to learn the difference, and some of that story is in the Faith section. I serve at my church, and the settled life I have now was built there.
The rest of me, in no particular order: I travel solo, most recently seven countries in one February, a story that lives here as Breaking Out of the Box. I dance salsa on Tuesdays. I keep a 40 Before 40 list, currently fourteen down. And I'm reading my way through Austen and Dickens like homework I assigned myself, because it is.
